Core SellerHint concepts
The five ideas that explain most of the product: product records, store scope, local save, remote update and marketplace identity.
1. A product record is not a listing
A product record is your information about an item, held by SellerHint. A listing is what exists on eBay. They can be linked, but they are separate things, and changing one does not automatically change the other.
2. Store scope
Almost everything that comes from or goes to a marketplace belongs to exactly one connected store: listing values, images and image order, business policies, warnings, orders, messages, campaigns, synchronisation status and marketplace identifiers. SellerHint keeps these separate by design.
3. Saving your work
Saving in SellerHint for Mac writes to storage on your Mac. SellerHint Web uses its own separate online storage. Saving a product record and sending supported changes to eBay are separate actions; saving by itself does not update a live listing.
4. Sending changes
Sending supported changes to eBay is a separate, deliberate action. It requires an internet connection and an authorised store, it is processed in order, and its outcome is reported back to you, including partial failures.
5. Exact marketplace identity
When SellerHint acts on a listing, it uses the exact eBay item identity within the correct store context. SKU is not treated as a globally unique identifier, because duplicate SKUs are normal and valid.
