Delete a product safely

Deleting a product record removes your local information about an item. It does not end, hide or remove a listing on eBay.

Protected products

A product record associated with a live listing is protected from deletion. This prevents a single mistaken action from detaching a record from a listing that is still selling and losing the local history attached to it.

If you want to stop selling an item

1. End or remove the listing on eBay, because that action belongs to the marketplace.
2. Refresh the store in SellerHint so the live status is current.
3. Delete the product record if you no longer need your local information about the item.
