Automation and alerts

Review background refresh and automatic work deliberately.

Open Settings › Automation & Alerts. Check Background Refresh, Notifications and GTC Guard Defaults. Review enabled stores and timing before turning on automated work.

Mac background actions need the app running, the Mac awake and a connection. Pausing automatic synchronisation can also delay dependent workflows.
